'The Reel of Life'

A new challenge from the Sunday Whirl

'The Reel of Life'

Don’t talk to me about the old places,
Don’t bring to surface the longings that
Lie dormant and still in the depth
Of my soul.  Do not unwind
My life.  For if you do,
You’ll find me kneeling,
Praying in vain
For a chance
To go
Back.
Do
Not take
Away my
Resolution
To look ahead, and
Contemplate the broad and crisp
Horizons, and fields dotted
With wild flowers.  Do not disturb  the
Reel of my life, I do not wish
To make a spectacle of myself.  Please.

Live for the Love of it,
The Happy Amateur

  1. Lovely presentation here. I like life as a reel... hard to not replay, though.

    1. Thank you, Sara! It's funny with wordles: I never really know if they've worked out or not. I guess, this one has turned out OK! :-)

  10. Terrific use of the wordle and structure on this one. I think we can all identify with those competing desires to go back and not to hit replay. We'd love to fix all our old mistakes, undo the wrongs and uncommit the hurts, but going back to look at them can't change them and might trap us in the past.
