"Loneliness" (September Haiku, Day Three)

It’s summer still.  Fall
Will lower the bridge over
Her castle’s moat.  Wait.

Color in her cheeks,
She’ll let you in her castle,
When golden leaves fall.

When loneliness rings,
She’ll wrap you in reds and golds,
Hand you a scepter.

To be continued...

  1. I liked the idea of merging different topic in one continued set.
I liked the second haiku and its temporariness =)

  4. I like the way these three haiku link to each other and cascade the ideas, ending up with the last one, which is quite warm and friendly !

  5. I am enjoying your haiku story. Today's first line was special to me "when loneliness rings"

  6. This is a clever fairytale slant on loneliness - ie it is inevitably temporary here, whereas in real life it is often a permanent state!

    1. I feel that there are moments in life when loneliness subsides, tricks us into believing that we're not lonely. But it never leaves, always returns, stronger than before...
Not a very optimistic view, I'm afraid. But I do think that people are lonely.
