Ray Bradbury has died.
~ Taste of Gold ~
Morning birdsong rising high,
Rolling pastures set aglow
Know not the reason why
You should go…oh please, don’t go.
I won’t stay away too long,
I will not forever roam,
For this land I’ll always long,
I’ll come home… I will come home.
Dandelion golden wine -
Do not leave, oh not just yet -
Please, recall the taste so fine,
Don’t forget…please, don’t forget.
I will carry it with me...
I will keep it by my side...
I will drink its memory…
...Dark they were, and golden-eyed.
Please, come home…oh please, come home...

A sad day indeed, Sasha. "The Martian Chronicles", being one of my favourites.

He was such a huge part of growing up, such a big help, too, in those turbulent years of adolescence. I loved "The Martian Chronicles." And "Dandelion Wine" is a beautiful book, a true gem. So much wisdom in it.
