Eclipse Poem

Eclipse

Today I am free. I’m a bee going back to its hive,
a spider destroying its web, the earth’s crust
pushing upward. I stand tall, rising
with the burning, aching,
irresistible
sun.

  1. I hope you are having a wonderful summer.
I didn't get to see the eclipse.

I'm home again, but I had a lovely visit to Port Washington, WI.

Happy belated birthday to your family and friends.
I have a few August birthdays in my family also.

    1. Hi Jules,
      nice to see you!

I'm going to miss summer, flew by fast, as always.

We had about 80% of the eclipse, and I was a bit disappointed: I thought 80% is a lot, should get really dark! I thought I'd see some weird shadows..

Apparently just a few percent make a lot of difference. It didn't get dark at all, no shadows either. But we did see the eclipse through the glasses. Looked like an Oreo cookie with a chunk of the cookie broken off and creme showing :)

  2. An Oreo in the sky...I like that.
I keep Oreo's at my place for the grands and (me too) but I just like the regular ones. I don't need the fancy varied creams. :)
