'The End'

Another writing challenge from Naming Constellations:

Here's the set of words I ended up with (senses vs corresponding - or not so much - objects):

Sight: Christmas tree

Hearing: couch

Smell: stereo             

Taste: photograph  

Touch: clock    

Here's my attempt to put it all together...

'The End'

 The stereo’s still ‘roasting those chestnuts,’

But Christmas photographs look stale already,

Time’s running through my fingers like Dali’s clock,

An old couch’s trying to console the needle-crying tree, 

“It’s not the end.”
