I'm going to try to participate in this challenge from Haiku Heights and write a haiku (or something resembling one) a day. The first word is "drawbridge."
It’s summer still. Fall
Will lower the bridge over
Her castle’s moat. Wait.
Live for the Love of it,
I really like this - I am waiting for this change too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting me.
DeleteWelcome to this September Heights. It's a joy to write an every day haiku ...
ReplyDeleteYour haiku is nicely crafted.
Thank you very much. I look forward to this. I'm thinking of writing a string of connected haiku (I did that before), more like a long poem.
DeleteNicely done. I love: ".Wait."
ReplyDeleteThank you, Barbara.
DeleteVery well done..yes, Wait..RS:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Enjoyed reading this.. :)
ReplyDeleteCreepy thorns to glistening petals

ReplyDeleteSomeone is Special
Very nice!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tarun, Susan and Someone is Special :-)
ReplyDeleteWaiting for that drawbridge to move is sometimes an agonising process!
ReplyDeleteDrawbridge
True.
DeleteI love this!
ReplyDeletePretty images. I love the last word, standing alone. Wait. That's just perfect.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm probably breaking haiku rules by using punctuation, this "Wait," etc. I do adhere to the 5-7-5 syllable rule, though :-)
DeleteInteresting ending ... effective surprise in style. I look forward to reading more throughout the month.
ReplyDeleteDrawBridge
Thank you.
