Ready Set Grow: Planting Perennials

The big round holes looked so much like dino footprints, I couldn't resist a bit of fun.

I'm afraid Jules might have got genuinely concerned going through all the possibilities, such as voles, and chipmunks, and cattle on the loose :) But it's Jules who solved the "garden mystery,"

"...those holes," she said, "they look like you had dug them to be ready for pots of flowers."

Yes, I confess to digging those five holes. Went to a garden center yesterday morning, got two Black-Eyed Susan 'Goldsturm' plants, two Shasta Daisy 'Snowcap' plants, and one 'Oertel s Rose' yarrow plant.

Should have waited for the 90 degree heat to subside a bit. Couldn't wait. Dug the holes under the blazing sun. Put the plants in early this morning:

My faithful dog kept me company. Here he is, squinting in the sunshine. You can tell gardening comes natural to him -- he might not have a thumb, but he's certainly got a "green paw" (times four)!

Live for the Love of it,
Sasha A. Palmer (aka Happy)

I guess I just watch too many home shows... ;)

But it was fun to play!

    1. It was very sweet of you Jules to fall for my "dino prank," I was touched. And I now know what kind of digging mischief different animals are up to. I feel prepared! Thank you :)
