'The Road'

Although wonderful, the images of different roads provided by Poets United didn't quite match the poem I came up with...  I googled another road, that I felt was in agreement with my words.

‘The Road’

I watched the road from my bedroom window,
A ‘stay at home’ type, ‘sit by the fire,’
I never ever really truly wondered
What it was like out there –
Beyond the bend –

But then one day I changed my name to ‘Pilgrim,’
The warmth and home I traded for the road,
The loss was meant to be, for what I found
Was my own life that lay
Beyond the bend.

On Etymology

Poets United and Thursday Think Tank invite us to think about goodbyes.

'On Etymology'

That’s how it all starts,
Love breaches those gates,
That seal up our hearts.
With hope He awaits,

And prays for our eyes
To see, our ears to hear,
To know that He’s near,
Though wears a disguise

At times - like those things
We say with no thought,
In them - if only sought -
He so clearly rings.

In our faithless times
The soul’s born anew:
God’s hour softly chimes,
‘Goodbye – God be with you.’

'Down By The Sea Shore'

For today's Think Tank at Poets United.

'Shell'

“She sells
  Seashells”
 Take one -
One is none,
One, two - I love you,
One, two, three - family,
One, two, three, four – go to the sea shore,
Five, six, seven, eight, nine – picking up shells of beauty divine,
Ten…twenty…thirty…riches abound – an infinite number of blessings we’ve found!
