November 2014 Poem-A-Day Chapbook Challenge: Day 26

‘twas a million places
a million cries
and a million winters
ago
in some ex-ballerina’s
apartment with eyes
in a city bewildered
by snow

‘twas the time that was perched
tween the land and the skies
in a basket of wonder
and willow
tween the yesterday’s hurts
and tomorrow’s goodbyes
rose petals of dawn
on the pillow

‘twas the world that was simple
it spelled you and I
in the hand of a happy
beginner
we would dance on the ceiling
(I don’t recall why)
and upset so the ex-
ballerina

when we left in a hurry
forgetting to pack
our mem’ries
she roused her ire
she arranged our wings
in a neat sky-high stack
pirouetted
and set them on fire

November 2014 Poem-A-Day Chapbook Challenge: Day 3

‘Twas a winter of many a season,
of not much reason, just living.
Just sailing on top of the world,
that’s how we were.

‘Twas a city snow-swaddled, and maybe –
our first born baby – a glimpse of.
The new love, not much to forgive,
and all to give.

‘Twas the time of a silver voice soaring,
long miles before the storm happened
and troubled the water at will.
We’re happy still.

2014 April PAD Challenge: Day 2

I've come up with a little April challenge of my own.
I'm attempting to write a haiku (sort of) story based on Poetic Asides Poem-A-Day prompts.
Yesterday was Day #1 (Beginning), today is Day #2 (Voyage.)
Two days, two haiku.

beyond the welkin
a sleepy angel awakes
off to work wings brushed

the commute is quick
one giant leap for mankind
for angel one step

To be continued...I hope.
