A new prompt from We Write Poems:
"As you go about your day, select some moment, some place where you are - then as Joseph Harker suggests - pick the first object that you see and write about it in a completely unexpected way."
I wrote about a small bell that sits on a shelf in my kitchen.

A
Woman
suspended
Inside
a house
Strikes
Against
its
Sides,
makes it
Ring
With
silence
Come
back soon

The Happy Amateur
Nice oxymoron "ring/with silence" and that it's the woman who's suspended like a bell.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Irene!
ReplyDeleteAll sorts of evocations going on here, I like it very much ...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Polly, I'm glad!
ReplyDeleteLove how you made the woman inside the bell, then, clanging with silence. Sounds like a frustrated stay-at-home mom or a woman who has more potential than she's currently exercising? Thought-provoking piece, and I loved it. Peace, Amy
ReplyDeleteThank you, Amy, you are indeed very 'sharp' :-) Glad you liked the poem.
ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoyed your poem. Unusual and a bit of a tease. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for the comment, Misky :-)
