A short tale in haiku (prompted by Wordgathering)

he never quite knew
what he did when he gave her
that pair of small wings

he used to keep them
in an old box always locked
until she came by

he thought they would match
the clothes she wore the color
of asphalt and clouds

she claimed those wings no
they claimed her as soon as she
put them on they grew

he tried to cut them
like her hair they grew longer
they tore her apart

she never quite knew
if she was crucified or
flying perhaps both

  6. I like the image in the fifth stanza. It gives me a sense of pain (the cut wings) and relief (they grow longer).

    1. By the time snowstorms reach us they turn into rain...very rarely do we get snow. I'm hoping for at least one good snowstorm (as long as the power stays on!) - we've hardly had any winter so far.

Jules, you're very welcome. I'm happy you've been enjoying wikems and grateful for your support. Thank you :-)
